Letters on an Old Estate
Col. Washington Bowie, of Baltimore, visited Rockville yesterday to secure letters of administration on the personal estate of his grandfather, Washington Bowie, who died 78 years ago. It is desired to dispose of three portraits which are claimed by several descendants of the deceased. The portraits are those of Mr. Bowie, his wife and a group picture of their children. For many years they were in possession of Mr. W. B. Chichester, recently deceased. The orphan’s court granted the letters and Colonel Bowie bonded in the sum of $2,000.
